The kids enjoy the BSCA races, it's usually easier for them to do well, so we headed to Richard Dunn Sports centre with two kids wanting to do a good job.
Finlay had to do 6 laps and Jack 10. Unlike racing, where you can sit in a group and get 'dragged along' with time trials you have to stay on your own, if you catch someone up you've got to go straight past them and not use their slip stream.
Both kids tried hard, Finlay averaged 2:00 for his 6 laps and he got 4th overall. Jack averaged 1:41 over his 10 laps, looking at his times he was very consistent, his first 3 laps were all 1:39 and he gradually slipped back over the subsequent laps to 1:43, he then tried hard on his last lap and did a 1:40. This earned him a 4th as well.
Both kids were chuffed that they had done well and enjoyed receiving their certificates at the prize giving at the end of the day.
